ABOUT THE TRAINER

Trainer/Installer Jim Andrews has been involved in animal behavior for over 40 years, including training and handling K9s in the US Army.  Pet Training provides an outstanding backdrop for dog fence installation and training.

Says Jim "My dog training clients have very different needs than protection, bomb detection and other high pressure jobs assigned to working K9s.  Household pets do not work under that pressure and consequently, training is far more fun and enjoyable for the pet and the handler.  I love working with household pets."

Jim’s parents owned a kennel were they bred, raised and trained Siberian Huskies for dog sleds in up-state New York. He started working with the dogs at age 14 training them until he went in the Army. Afterwords, he kept busy working with owners of problem dogs that needed special help with behavior issues and continues doing that today.

Jim also worked part-time for an Invisible Fence® dealer as a trainer, installer and service technician while in college.

Says Jim:  "Thank you for considering North Carolina Dog Fence for your pet fence needs.  We will try to keep the sales aspects straight and to the point.  We respect your time and appreciate your visit to our site!"

ABOUT THE TRAINING

Training your dog to be comfortable and safe in the yard is a fairly simple process. We will give your pet it’s first lesion to teach it to avoid the fencing system and we will teach you how to perform the needed follow-up training.

Training is more like playing in the yard with the dog than training and only requires 15 to 20 minutes a day. During training you must keep your pet from getting near the fence until you are sure it understands what it is learning. This means you need to have a way to keep your pet contained until training is complete. Complet training takes between 14 and 21 days.
